We met in 1997 after both being in our friend's wedding. Soon after, we began dating and knew we wanted to be together forever not long after that!
We married in July of 1999 and always wanted to have children after first spending time together as a couple. From the moment we were ready to start a family, we learned that we would be unable to conceive a biological child. We tried several fertility treatments, even using Jen's sister as an egg donor. Finally, our belief that everything happens for a reason has put us on the path toward growing our family through open adoption.
We value open communication, honesty, friendship, education and above all
family. Our wish is to share our life with your child and provide a nurturing environment that will fill him or her with the love and support to be whomever he or she wants to be.
Some of our favorite activities before becoming parents were dinner parties with friends, trying new restaurants, traveling (especially to Mexico), taking our dog, Grace, on long, off-leash hikes, and visiting the family cabin in the Sierras.
Now, our dinner parties include "shows" with a cast of characters including Sinéad and all her little friends, dining out includes a booster seat and lots of sugar packet rearranging, and our mountain cabin adventures mean a lot of throwing rocks into the river. We still go on our walks but now we stroll around the outdoor mall so Sinéad can throw pennies in the fountains. (She learned to be Jen's shopping companion at 2 weeks old!) Needless to say, we LOVE all of our family adventures!
Before we met, we each traveled thoughout the United States and Europe. Over the years together, our travels have included: Mexico, Hawaii, Las Vegas, France, Ireland, the Caribbean, Seattle, New York, Ohio, New Mexico plus lots of weekend getaways around California!
Since starting our family, travel still happens but less frequently. Our most recent trip was with Jen's family for her sister Caitlin’s 21st Birthday in “Waas Baygus” (Las Vegas). Sinéad has also been to Mexico, Georgia, and The Carolinas.
